After driving through Grapevine and Coppell and Highland Village in Friday after-work traffic, we finally pulled in and hooked up.
I didn't pull the camera out on Friday night- My parents were there, and Millie and Luke came to cook out and eat too. We had burgers and beans and PERFECT weather.
Our first night sleeping in the pop-up was great. We kept all the canvas open and the breeze through the screens was perfect. Just right to give you a little chill and then when you pull up the quilt you are just so cozy. The beds were totally comfy which was a relief!
Saturday morning we woke up with a little finch birdie IN our camper. Have no idea how it got there because everything seems to be sealed...but I totally freaked even though it was hopping around on mom and dad on the other side of the camper. I was cracking up because mom dad and I all just pulled the covers up over our faces as I demanded that Jeff get up and get it outta there! I don't do birds.
The weather on Saturday continued to be perfect. It was overcast and not TOO breezy.
Our spots were right on the water...this is the view as I walked down from our spot to the water.
Remember how the kids love throwing rocks in the water? Well they still do!

The 2 little buddies, Bryson and Cole. These 2 are SO cute and they do NOT fight over toys and being in charge like you normally see kids this age do. They are pretty good at sharing and actually playing together. Cole woke up both mornings and the first thing out of his mouth was "Want play with Brady Bryson!!!"
This morning (Sunday) Kylie brought Bryson over into our camper saying that he was throwing a fit wanting to see Cole. Too cute.

Saturday morning the Daddies took all 4 kids on a little boat ride.

Quite a handful!! Each kid took a turn driving...so cool! :)

This was just laying out on the rocky shore...

Heading back in...

Daddy and lil' Buddy.

Poppy and Nonnie.

The 2 little rascals.

See Cole peeking through the camper? The kids Loved playing in it. Brady pretended it was a train and he was the conductor. Brady is a "Thomas the Train" genius.

Jeff took some shots of our set-up while the kids and I were napping.

Saturday night the ice cream truck drove through. It was very exciting!

It was just before dinner but we couldn't say no. We were on "vacation." :)

The kids looking up at the ice cream lady:

Cole REALLY enjoyed his.

All done! Now it's time for dinner, haha!

Later that night I busted out the (washable) markers in our camper. I was supervising for about 30 minutes then I asked Jeff to take over so I could do something.
5 minutes later....

What a mess! Daddies!!!
Saturday night the weather was just as perfect. We were still "in" the city but you wouldn't believe how quiet it was out there! The only thing reminding us that we were close to home were the planes taking off and landing overhead.
Sunday morning...back to the water.

My new fav...MGD 64, 1 point!!!

Despite what a mess he is, Cole hates getting his hands dirty. He ran up to me whining, "Cole need wash hands!!!!"

Good food! The last supper...

We had such a great time and actually LOVED being close to home because we were home in about 45 minutes and had the day to do laundry and get ready for the week. The pop-up was perfect and I love it SO much! Kylie and Sean's little boys are such sweeties and it really is amazing how well all 4 of the kids play together. We look forward to many more weekends like this!
