Cole-isms

I just poop'd-ed Mommy.

I really really super want it!!!

Jeff: Are you kiddin me?
C: No YOU kiddin you!
Jeff laughs
C: That's funny daddy!

Tonight at bedtime as I was singing to him:
C: I gonna be yike Tyty.
M: You are?
C: Yup.
M: Are you gonna be big and tall like him?
C: Yup. And I gonna have big mustles.
M: You are?
C: Yup. And you have big mustles too.

After our regular "Now I lay me down to sleep.....AMEN." prayer, Cole kept going...
Thank you for Mommy and TyTy and Daddy.

He doesn't love uncle Tyty or anything!!! :)

Yes sir?

I was just laying in bed with Coleman. He keeps begging me to sing the "Tyty loves you" song, which is a song I made up when Shelby was an infant, and still sing to them.
It's just to the tune of 'Hallelujah' the hymn, and I sing, "Mommy loves you, Daddy loves you, we all love our little Coleman..." and then sing a million verses with everyone we know that love them. :)
Oh and he was singing it with me, and telling me who to sing loves him next...so cute!
Anyway, after the singing, I say:
M: "Want me to scratch your back?" (This kid has never really enjoyed being scratched or rubbed.)
C: "Don't scratch my back! You hear me? Don't scratch my back, rub my back!!.... Yes sir???"
(((I am always saying, "YES MA'AM?!?" after I tell the kids something so this just cracked me up.)
M: (Laughing) Oh my gosh!
C: (Uncontrollable little boy giggles) "Oh my goss! Oh my goss!!!" (More giggles.)

Sometimes I hate having to put those cute little faces to bed!

Toitle.

Jeff was talking to Shelby about her (THREE!!!) accidents today. 2 were pee and 1 was a little tiny bit of poo. Shelby said, "I had a toitle." [turtle aka turtle head] hahaha!

Every time we mention the Rangers Coleman talks about fireworks. He LOVED the fireworks at the game we went to...he will enjoy July 4 for sure!!!
When you ask him something, his new standard answer is "Yep." Poor wittle buddy got a black eye yesterday. I have pictures, I just have to stop being too lazy to upload them!

Today I got this email:

This message is from Shelby:

i heart my mommyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bbbbbbbecause i love her!

Shelby typed that all herself!!!

Tonight Jeff's baseball games were canceled so we have enjoyed a nice charcoal-cooked steak dinner with pasta and potatoes. And Daddy is doing bath time, even though he's been here with the kids all day! I'm one lucky (and sometimes lazy) mommy!

NRH2O

Last week at our Mommy night out (Sushi etc) we had a great idea about taking our families to the water park together. We had to take advantage of the Davis family actually STAYING IN TOWN for the weekend! :)
So Saturday we met there right when it opened and had a blast!
Jess has a cool waterproof camera so I'm stealing borrowing her pictures.

We had 5 adults and 5 kids to begin with, and then Jeff had to leave, and it is TOUGH when the kids outnumber you at a place like that! Thanks to you friends helping me wrangle my kids to get us ready to leave! :)
We were there for about 4 hours and believe it or not, it was little miss Shelby who was ready to go, and Cole threw the HUGE hissy fit about leaving.

We had a busy weekend- when I find my camera I will post updates and pictures!

Sun sun go away??

It's 6pm on Sunday. And our thermometer (which is on the house, in the shade) says 107. OMG!!!! We have been outside in Nonnie & Poppy's pool since about noon. We are swimmed out! Mommy has some nice tanned face with some sunglass-rimmed eyes. Shelby's face is pink but not more than usual. It will be gone in a day or 2. Cole looks fine (he has more of my skin than Shelby does, it seems to tan a little better.) Jeff is fine (but of course a little pink just because he's SO WHITE) because he was caking on 50 SPF every hour. He's a pro at that. We have a couple of little fishies for kids and it is great. But no matter how much we love the sun and the water, it is FREAKING HOT out there!!!!!!!! And it's only June!!! :(

A 2 year old puts himself to sleep?!

Coleman and Shelby have just been partying the summer away!
Yesterday they went swimming.
This morning at 10 am they went swimming. Then we went home for a nap. Then we headed straight back over to Nonnie's (where we have lots of family in town for a family reunion!) and we went swimming again. Both the kids are totally little fishes. It is pretty amazing--Shelby is completely self-sufficient in the pool. She can swim from one end to the other, float, tread water, go down to the bottom to get something, jump in anywhere...she is just in her element in the water. And when she gets tired, she tells us and gets out.
Coleman is doing lots too. He wears little floaties but with those on he is fearless. He will jump in all over the pool, go completely under (he is great at doing chipmunk cheeks!) and then pop up and swim to the side. It is so nice to be able to sit on the side and WATCH them swim without being in the pool. Of course I make sure to be very alert and watch every move they make- but they are doing so great and it is so very fun for them!
Tonight we got home after this long day of swimming around 9:30. I was cooking for something tomorrow, and Cole was wandering around. At 10:15 Jeff came and got me to see that Cole had climbed up into his top bunk (where he sleeps every night) all on his own and was completely under the covers, ready to go to bed. He told us goodnight and that he was sleepy! haha. We got him up and brushed his teeth, put him back in bed and it was one of the easiest bedtimes ever. :)

Veggies

For dinner last night I had one of these

(Morningstar Farms® Tomato & Basil Pizza Burgers
Description:Italian-style veggie burger accented with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil -- deliciozo!)
on 2 pieces of Sarah Lee's 45 calories and delightful bread (toasted). And it was pretty yummy!!!

Veggie patty: 3 pts
2 pieces bread: 1 pt (this bread is awesome, you can eat 1 piece for 0 points!)

Then I drank a bottle of wine (10 pts.) hahaha

I cooked the burger in the oven (the box stated that was the "preferred method") and since I cooked 2 of them, I was holding the 2nd patty and Cole said, "Cookie!" So I gave him a bite. And he took it and ate the whole thing. I will be buying more of these! It was about $3.20 for 4 patties at walmart- and a veggie cookie is always good!!!

Father's Day 09

Well, I did not get around to making a Father's day post this year....we had a busy (away from internet!) weekend.
But we sure did enjoy some Daddy time! And a funny little story.
I gave Shelby a bag to fill up with "movies" to take with us camping, as I often do. When I walked into the living room she was proudly holding up this dvd case that I hadn't seen in a year. It was the father's day video I made for Jeff last year. (I don't think she had any clue what it was, or that it was Father's day this weekend.) She said, "I want to take this Mommy." I told her that was a great idea. Then the next night, in the camper when it was time to pick a show, she picked that one. It was all so sweet and perfect and non-orchestrated but again, PERFECT. We all cuddled up on one of the beds in the camper and watched this video of Daddy and his kids. The kids loved it, calling out who was in each picture, and giggling and just reveling in the memories. And I'm not gonna lie, I saw yet another tear on Jeffie's face.
So this slacker mom is going to post this video again- for the newcomers and anyone who has a few minutes (ok maybe 7 or 8) to watch it again.
And for anyone who wants to know what an absolutely adoring and devoted daddy looks like. This video is undeniable proof- he IS an involved, present, loving daddy. And we LOVE him.

Shelbyism

Yesterday I got my first "I'm not your best friend anymore!!!!" from Shelby during a fit. Awwwwwwww :(

Our weekend

Cedar Hill State park

That about sums it up!!!

Shelbyism

Shelby has this horrible habit of repeating herself OVER and OVER if she doesn't like our answer. She has just eaten dinner and is asking for a pop tart. I told her no. Here comes the whiney voice. "I want a pop tart!!! I want a pop tart!!!" over and over and over. This kid is stubborn and will say something like this for a good 15 minutes or more, but her mommy is just as stubborn. ;)

Me, hoping to nip this whinefest in the bud: "Shelby, listen to me. I need you to get this in your head. I am NOT arguing with you about this. You are not getting anything else to eat right now."

S: (paused for a second....then started stomping off to her room) "It didn't go in my head anyway. It didn't go in my head!"

Will someone please remind me how I thought this was funny in about 10 years? (Or less???)

Let's go Rangers!!

Last Friday night we got to see our Rangers beat the LA Dodgers!
Before the game we went to Sherlocks and sat on the patio to have some dinner...Millie and Luke were there, and Daddy and Adam met us there too.
As we were eating, the sky was looking so ominous. I was watching the radar on my phone and was convinced that the game would be a bust, especially after what happened just 2 days before (game completely canceled b/c of a huge storm that destructively blew threw the metroplex)

Just as Millie and I had decided to take the kids and go home while the guys "braved" the game, the Sherlocks "Bus to the Ballpark" pulled up and I had a change of heart. We all climbed aboard, and I kept saying, "This is such a stupid decision." I just knew I was going to be stuck out there with 2 kids in a tornado downpour... I'm such a glass half full type don't ya think?!

On the shuttle Shelby met another Shelby, who was my age and she was a drunk Shelby. And my Shelby turned around in her seat and rambled on to her about Baby Joey's birthday and how he turned 2.

Our first stop was the bathroom, where Shelby took my camera from me and told me to show my ticket and smile. Not bad, eh? hahahaha (Disclaimer- I was not actually sitting on the toilet for this picture)

Cole wore his Ranger's hat proudly, and he rocks it!

Daddy and Sissy look a little hot. I'm afraid she got her daddy's sweat glands.

During the first inning we were there, Cole sat w/ Millie and Luke, but then they moved into those empty seats next to us!

Here I am still checking the radar. The sky was so scary looking.

But the clouds just went right past the ballpark. It stayed just west of us and moved on south. We were able to enjoy the entire game and then even stayed for the fireworks afterwards. They were wonderful!!
Back at Sherlock's to get in our cars, the kids found this little guy.

Cole fell fast asleep in his carseat before we were out of the parking lot.
The rest of us were quick to follow as soon as we set foot in the door.

The next morning Aunt Millie and Uncle Lukas babysat for me while I ran an errand.
Thanks Guys!!!

Later Saturday Shelby and I got to take our first trip to NRH2O. No pictures from that but look at this pink little face.

Apparently reapplying 50 SPF sunscreen every hour isn't quite enough! But the next day all the pink was gone.

And this is one of my favorite things...2 smiling kiddos lovin on each other in my bed!!!

Say hello...

to the new page design!

We like to party. We like, we like to party.

Rising Star style!!!

They were told to go to the carpet---look at the sweet wittle unsuspecting faces...

^ Yep Cole has a doll. It is the Hannah Montana doll that sings a Christmas song and he carried that thing around all day. "Haaaamontanna"

Then the teachers brought out the surprise!!!

It didn't take them long to figure out they were SUPPOSED to make a mess!!!

Shelby didn't like it at all...can't you tell???

We got Ms. Karen!

Cole is thinking, "These kids just THINK they can get me cause I'm little..."

"Ahhh, he went DOWN!!!"

This didn't get old for quite some time...Reminds me of the time Nonnie let Shelby go crazy with oatmeal in her living room!

Poor Maddie, probably had quite some time getting it out of that hair!!

Do I look innocent?...

How does this thing stay on?

Party Party! It's so liberating to make messes!! (The little class came in to help celebrate.)

The final goodbye hug for Ms. Michelle...

What a great year the Rising Stars had!!!
