Yesterday Cole walked in holding himself and said, "Mommy Need new diaper!" So I told him to go get me one and he did. Then I said, "Shelby, can you change him?" Totally joking of course but she's like, "Yes." I'm thinking I really wanna see this. So she takes the diaper and says "Bubby lay down" which he does. Then she took a minute to figure out how she was going to lift his legs/bottom up to get the diaper under him. She used both hands and figured it out- and then she gets both sides of the diaper around him and fastened in no time. I would have given anything to have a camera there with me to record it, but I just sat there and watched...it was like she's changed a million diapers before, no problem! I was cracking up. Cole said, "Thanks Sissy."
This kid is going to potty train himself! I mean, he just turned 2 and everyone says boys take longer, paired with the fact that Shelby wasn't the least interested in it until after she was 2 and a half, so it's not like I'm in a hurry to start training him. And most of us know Shelby wasn't easy---I just haven't even thought about potty training him yet. But now at least once a day he tells me, "Mommy, need go peepee on toilet." So I let him and usually he immediately pees. Tonight he was wearing a fresh diaper from after bath and hadn't even peed in it once when he told me he needed to go on the toilet. Also his morning diapers aren't near as wet as they used to be. I will not be surprised if he just decides to potty train himself! If not, it will surely be done this summer. Yay for no more diapers in the near future!!!

Another funny
The administrator at Shelby's school told me that they asked Shelby where her "Not Socks" (BabyLegs) were from today and she said they were from "the box store". Hahaha! If you know me you know I'm the queen of online shopping- Shelby is so excited to check the front porch every day and is disappointed if there's not a box on it! So now I guess online is called the "Box store."
Shelbyisms and Bye Bye shoe
Last night I went to dinner with friends so I met Jeff on his way home from work to hand over the kids, and I got home after they were in bed.
First thing this morning Shelby walks into my room and says, "Mommy you are not gonna believe what Coleman did last night. He did something very very bad. Guess what he did."
M: "What?"
S: "I SAID guess!"
M: "Umm, he hit you?"
S: "Nope. He THREW. HIS. SHOE. out. the. window!!!"
Cole: "Shoe out window. Bye bye shoe!"
S: "Daddy was SO upset."
I was cracking up at this! Of course Jeff had already told me the story last night, kind of in the same way. He said, "You're not gonna believe what Cole did on the way home." And I said, "Oh no, did he throw his shoe out the window???"
Haha- I knew it because on the way there with them, every time I would try rolling down Cole's window he would start taking his shoe off so I would immediately roll it up thinking, "He's gonna try to throw the darn thing out the window." I even meant to warn Jeff about it but of course I forgot. Bye bye shoe!!! haha
----------------------------------
This morning Shelby was taking her sweet time as usual and I was waiting on her to come to the bathroom so I could fix her hair. I said, "Shelby come on, I do not have time for this." Strolling in she said, "You have time, Sweetie."
We got her new "Baby Legs Not Socks" in the mail yesterday and when she saw them this morning, although she was already fully dressed, she decided she needed to wear them. So we changed out of jeans and into a skirt with the baby legs. As we were doing this she said, "Mommy I'm gonna be cuter than a dog! And even cuter than a kitty cat too."

Terrible 2
Coleman had the worst morning today. He just wanted to keep eating, wouldn't sit still, didn't want me to take his pjs off, didn't want me to put his shoes on, wanted to climb on the stools and get into my bathroom counters...
At one point I finally raised my voice and said, "Coleman Jeffrey Peck...NO!" He got so pissed at me, he looked at me and screamed, "NO NO YOU MOMMY! NO NO YOU!"
Ahhhh. Who said boys were supposed to be easier or the second child was supposed to be more laid back? They owe me big time. :)

Shelbyism story
Last time Shelby was at my office was around Valentine's day. As we were leaving we heard this voice, "Shelby! Shelby come here!" We followed it into my vice chancellor's office to find her holding out a special treat for Shelbs. A york peppermint patty heart! Shelby smiled and happily took it.
Fast forward to this morning...
We were leaving my office area to walk Shelby to school. Outside, she says, "Wait Mommy, can we see if the lady with the heart candy is here?"
Not even remembering who she's talking about I ask, "Who?"
Shelby: "The HEART CANDY LADY! (huffs and sighs like DUH MOM) I'll show you."
So I follow her into my boss's office as I remember what the heart candy was.
Shelby just stands there and giggles/smiles at her. My boss opens her drawer and pulls out another chocolate heart peppermint patty.
Shelby, who is extremely shy at my office and never talks to anyone, just takes it and gives her a big huge smile and giggle.
As we're walking to school, Shelby says, "Mommy, maybe she'll have one for me EVERY day!"
Me, "Hmmm maybe...Are you gonna eat it?
S: "No I think I'll eat it when I get to school."
Me: "You can't eat it after you get in to school."
S: "Why?"
M: "Because there's not enough to share with everyone." (a school rule)
S: "(as she's quickly opening the chocolate) Yeah Mommy, there's not enough to go around. Well actually there probably is enough to go around in her drawer but we can't take it all....Mommy, this candy makes our breath smell good."
Later my boss told me she isn't sure what to do because of course they only sell the heart shaped ones at Valentine's time...I told her she's in trouble because little Miss Shelby now has expectations. :)

Venting
We picked our cubes today. Have I told you how my employers are moving us to a new location, further from my home and away from my kids? Oh yeah they also are taking us from our nice big offices and putting us in THREE FOOT WIDE CUBES!!! I am so stressed over this and it makes me want to puke every time I think about it. Like, I've been losing sleep over it and just want to cry. Of course, not many people in my department are happy about moving, especially because of the fact that there is complete and total disregard for how this effects our lives. But on top of that, I will finally have both of my kids here on campus with me in August...well, I would have. Now I get to drop them off here and hike it down to downtown Fort Worth. See...tears again. I am not sure I can handle this.

THE "camping" trip
Ok, so it's not "camping" but it is a cabin in the woods and we didn't shower everyday so that qualifies, right?!
We spent the past weekend in Beaver's Bend Oklahoma again and we had a blast! On Wednesday, Brady (Kylie's 4 yr old) decided he needed to call Shelby to talk about their trip. She wasn't home but she did all him back on Thursday and the excitement just mounted from there!!
We arrived late Friday night, and the kids woke up when we got there (at 10:00) after napping for 2-3 hours. Guess how the night went after that?...that's right. Not great. After finally getting everyone quiet and in bed by midnight, Cole had the biggest crying fit ever during the night, I couldn't decide if he was overly tired or not tired at all after he "nap." But we made it through the night and with a little help from the bathroom exhaust fan in their room to drown out the noise, so did the Reisings :)
Saturday morning we played outside a lot. Well, the boys and kids did. The mommies preferred to be out of the harsh windy conditions!
Brady brought his 4-wheeler but I think he only got to ride it once or twice. Cole dominated it and he LOVED this thing. I will have to make Sean and Kylie buy him one since they introduced it to him!

Brady graciously driving Cole's little truck while Cole drove his.

There were stray dogs. Wherever dogs are, there Shelby will be also. She is such an animal lover!!! (This hound was named Hannah Baby)

Sean Cole and Bryson relaxing outside

Cole, still on that 4-wheeler

Saturday we went on a little walk around our cabin's area.

Hey! That looks like a cool hill ("mountain")...Let's climb it with our toddlers!!!! Yeah!!

Steadily walking up the hill....

We made it!

Oh crap we have to get back down....Umm, whose idea was this???

OH well, let's take a picture while we're here!
Mommy and Buddy

Back at the bottom...
The cutest kids ever

When we got back to the cabin Kylie and I got in the hot tub with Shelby and Brady. We tried to talk while being constantly splashed in the face and telling them to stop over and over and over :) We are such mean mommies!!!
We also made smores and played outside some more.
That night we got the kids to bed at a decent hour and had some to to just relax.
On Sunday we made it out to the state park and the lake (Broken Bow Lake I think??)
The one little family pic, Bubby did not want to sit still!

So we took a girl pic.

Daddies and their boys!

"Big ROCK!"

Did anyone know how fun it is to throw rocks in a lake? Did you know kids will do it for hours???

The 2 little buddies, Bryson and Coleman

All 4 children in one picture!

Brady and Shelby had so much fun playing together. He kept calling her "my friend" and "Hey, friend!" and Shelby kept calling him "Bryson, I mean Brady." (Bryson is his brother's name!) Brady even called me "My friend's mom" a few times, haha!
By the end of the trip, they were hugging and Brady declared Shelby his "best friend" hahaha

....still throwing rocks....

Look!

Sweet little posing girl

After that it was time to pack up and go. The kids were playing away when Brady realized what was happening. He said, "Is our cabin trip over?!???" Yep, it already was. We had a great great time but it went by FAST! We are already planning the next one!
Shelby got a hold of the camera on the way out of town...

The end.

My little singing dude
Ever since Shelby was a baby I sing this little lullaby that I kinda made up. It's very simple:
"Mommy loves you.
Daddy loves you.
We all love our little Shelby (Coleman)"
And then I sing it over and over but with all the different people that are in our family and stuff.
Now Cole likes to sing it.
Family, you have to watch this. Especially Anna. It was definitely an Anna day :)
And it's so cute when he calls Poppy "Pops"!

Friday stuff
Ever since I was little cranapple juice has been referred to as "Mimi juice" because my Mimi always has it at her house and drinks it every morning. I still call it Mimi juice! Well, last week my mom was over and we were drinking wine. Mom jokingly told Shelby that what I was drinking was "Mommy juice." Fast forward to this week when I was drinking a beer. Shelby said, "This is not Mommy juice or Daddy juice cause it's BEER!"
Last month my friend Kylie emailed me to see if we wanted to take a family weekend trip to Beaver's Bend, Oklahoma. We have been wanting to plan a "camping" trip since before the kids were born! So today we're heading out there and we're so excited. Kylie has a blog here. Her kids are so cute and her little boy Brady who is about 6 months older than Shelby is hilarious. She has plenty of Bradyisms from him! :) This weekend I want to just shut him and Shelby in a room together and see what comes out of those mouths of theirs. :)
Here's where we'll be staying:

I know I'll come back rested and ready for another week! We have so much planned this year...my weekends are already booking up with events for Millie and her wedding. Her dress is in and we are going to try it on next weekend, then there's the makeup trial, bridal pictures, couples shower, bachelorette party in New Orleans, shower in Arkansas, and then the wedding is also Out of town. And guess what? It's going to be a GORGEOUS mountain wedding!!!
Here's a little sample of some stuff I've designed:

and the shower invite:

No peeking on the wedding invitations until they go out in the mail! :)
(This post was for you Alicia! (Did I spell that right??)) :) haha

Go Diego Go! and updates
We have this new little Look and Find Diego book that I have looked at with the kids before bedtime the past 2 nights. I am so amazed at what they know!!!
Let me tell you some of the things there to identify in the book, each of these are things that Shelby can name outright and Cole can hear and point at and repeat, if not name.
Chinchilla
Spectacled bear
Caiman (I pointed to it and said "Alligator" and Cole said, "No, Caiman Mommy!!!")
Coati (I had no idea what this was, I asked Shelby and then went and looked it up on the computer and sure enough, she was right)
Mountain Tapir (I pronounced this one wrong and Shelby corrected me)
Condor bird
Harpy Eagle
Sloth
Scarlet Macaw (You will be corrected if you call it a parrot! haha)
Humpback Whale
Armadillo
Llama
Pygmy Marmoset
Jaguar
Puma
Anaconda
Macaroni Penguin
Porcupine
I was telling Jeff about this last night, he didn't believe me that Cole can point out a pygmy marmoset so it's his turn to read and be amazed with him tonight! :)
As Shelby was naming off and identifying all these things to me, I of course kept saying, "Wow! That's right" etc. So she said, "Mommy I am so so SO smart and so great!!"
She also told me, "At our school we have this long bug and he has some stripes on the end of his long body and he's called a Magascar Hissing cockroach. He only hisses in his sleep" Sure enough, they do have a madagascar hissing cockroach in her class. Haha!
Cole can count to ten in English and Spanish. He is starting to be able to point to things in a book and count them correctly. He is going through learning colors. A while back everything was "GEEN!" This week everything is "PURPLE!!!"
They moved him up a class at school already. He seems to be adjusting fine. He is probably the youngest in the class now, but they move them up based on how advanced they are in language and stuff in addition to age- I'm happy because his other class was seriously ALL boys. Like 8 boys and 1 girl. Now I think the mix is a little better. Also, his indigestive/diaper issue hasn't been "solved" but is a little better for now. We are still waiting on the results of the fecal tests but the doctor did go ahead and put him on Soy milk only (and no juice and only 2 cups/day of the milk) and it seems to have helped. Poor little buddy was so scared of having his diaper changed, "No Mommy! HURT!" He was going like 8 or 9 times a day, with blood in the stool. We are still watching it but it seems to be getting better. (We've been through this cycle a bunch of times though, I hope they can find an answer.)
Shelby is getting so good at identifying letters and sounds. She LOVES to write. She likes to tell me what she wants to write, so I write it and she traces it. This weekend she made a Valentine's card that said, "TO NONNIE FROM SHELBY. I LOVE YOU. I WANT TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH YOU AGAIN." I told her that was awfully long but she insisted on that last part, haha!
Look at me blabbering on! And how dare I do such a long post without pictures!!!

There that's better.
I am so high strung with anxiety and stuff with impending work changes, my mind has been racing a mile a minute and I haven't been sleeping well.
Please add our family to your prayer list, specifically that we can make the right decisions for the right reasons and work everything out how it is best for our family in some upcoming decisions. I would really appreciate it!

Our Valentine's Day
This Valentine's Day was perfect ... I don't think I ever left the house!
We started out the morning with Nonnie and Poppy coming over for breakfast. Jeffie cooked egg sandwiches for us and pancakes with sprinkles for the kids, and they got to open presents from us and from N&P. They played outside a lot, and then during nap time Jeff and I watched Sex and the City the movie. We had finally finished watching every episode from start to finish and were ready for the movie!
That evening Jeff and I got a special V-Day meal from Market Street. We picked it up and it's a homemade "heat up and eat" meal that was SOOO great.
When Jeff and Cole went to pick it up, I showered and got dressed for the first time all day. I decided to dress up a little for our Valentine Meal. Jeff is so cute, he got home and saw me and went and showered and got dressed up too. We are nerds like that I guess.
Shelby wanted to take a picture of me. Not bad for one of her first pictures!

So then we asked her to take a picture of us:

See, nerds. I told you.
Here's the food to be cooked:

We dug into it so quickly that I didn't get a picture. It was good, trust me.

The dogs even enjoyed it, I guess we were feeling generous.

After that we watched Chicago (the movie with Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta Jones) and I LOVED it! I loved every minute of it....my hubby snoring beside me? Not so much :) I mean, he liked the movie...I just didn't like him snoring.
Love!

a Shelby Friday night
Last night we had a "Shelby date night." Coleman got to go to a basketball game and spend the night with Nonnie and Poppy. Jeff and I took Shelby to dinner, where she was VERY well behaved, and then we came home and watched a show and went to bed. Despite how good she was all night, I of course only wrote down things from when she was showing her little attitude.
When I wouldn't brush her teeth instead of daddy:
S: I quit Mommy. You're just frowed in the trash!!!
Later:
S: I'm done.
M: You're done with what?
S: I'm not gonna talk to you.
I was working on editing a baby picture for a friend, so the baby was big on my computer screen.
S: Mommy, is that me or Coleman?
M: That's mommy's friend's baby named Hayley.
S: She is a lotta much cuter than us.
M: Why?
S: Because she's a cute baby.
When I wouldn't brush her teeth instead of daddy:

A few pictures from the week
I haven't been taking or posting pictures much so here are some from the past week to catch up!
Cole and Matthew fought over Matthew's tractor the WHOLE weekend. We were glad to see that thing go back to Gram's house!!! :)

Enjoying some nice February weather outdoors...

Just a'swingin

Shelby was so proud of "climbing" the tree

Matthew likes to line up vehicles I guess :)

The boys playin with trucks in the dog pen (pin?)

Jeff decided to get the camera out for once! Reading bedtime books...

Sweet baby boy sleeping hard last night

With Mary dog at his feet!!!

Buddy ready for Valentine's day at school this morning
