Shelbyism

Jeff came running into the computer to type this so he'd remember it. Even I had a hard time believing she actually said this but he swears. Remember how Shelby has to have the whole living room floor bare before she will dance to music?

As Daddy was putting on the Hannah Montana cd:
"Daddy? Can you clean up this place...'cause I wanna rock it with these moves."

Then as Daddy was brushing her teeth I heard her say
"I want Mommy to brush my teeth because you don't do it rightly."

Reasons #1 through 1295 NOT to break the bank on a crib

The babies probably don't care how much you spent on it---if it feels good to gnaw on, they'll do it.
This is all from Shelby, I don't think Cole added much to it.

I think this crib was around $500. I wonder how much it would resell for? hahaha!

How we made our jack-o-lantern

Edit: Haha as everyone has pointed out, I am trying to get into the Photoshop Disasters award with this post. :) Really I just didn't want to devote more than 2 minutes on covering up my "strips as soon as she gets home" daughter!!

1. First Daddy Lefty drew the eyes and nose triangles.

2. Then Shelby drew the jack-0-lantern's mouth.

3. We started digging out the guts.

4. We asked for Mommy's help.

5. Shelby said "EWWWwww!" several dozen times.

6. Keep on diggin!

The finished product:

Cutie boy was so proud, he just kept saying "PUNKIN!!!"

Trick or Treat funny!

>

So What?

Pink's new song "So What" was on the radio this morning on our way to school.
(The chorus says "So what...I'm still a rockstar...I got my rock moves...and I don't need you...")

At the chorus, I didn't even know that Shelby was listening but she said, "Momma, why does she got her rock moves?" Hahaha

Shelby's class is doing a section on Monsters. Not sure why...maybe because it's Halloween? But now all of a sudden Shelby is scared of monsters coming in her room at night. Mary loves to sleep in Shelby's bed and sometimes when she goes missing, we find her curled up on Shelby's bed. Up until this week, Shelby didn't want Mary sleeping with her at night. Now at bedtime Shelby says, "I want Mary to sleep with me because Monsters don't come around dogs." I might have told her that little factoid. :)

Shelby's weekend with Monty Moose

My class has a stuffed moose named Monty and this past weekend, it was my turn to take Monty home and document our time together in a class scrapbook. Monty comes in a backpack full of moose things, like a Moose songs cd and 2 moose books. Monty used to live in Alaska, until my teacher Ms. Michelle decided to bring him home to Texas with her.

On the way home from school, I asked Mommy to make sure EVERYONE was buckled up safely. Monty sat with Bobby and Blodo.

We started out Friday night by enjoying the nice weather on the front porch rocker.

After dark, I thought it would be fun to dress Monty up and teach him all about being a princess. He loved learning from the best!

Saturday we went to my Nonnie's school carnival. On the way there, I let my bubby hold Monty. I love sharing with Cole, it makes him so happy.

Monty loved the hay ride so much, we did it twice.

Later on Saturday we got to ride a big train to Fort Worth. The train was so big, it had 3 levels of seating!!

Monty and I enjoyed the scenery. I told him what everything was.

Here is Monty with my Aunt Anna and my Poppy:

On Sunday Mommy helped me make my pages in Monty's scrapbook. She used pink because it's my favorite color. Here is a picture of my pages.

Today I took Monty and the book back to school so that my whole class could read about my weekend with him during circle time. It was a great weekend with Monty!

Mad at Daddy because he was making her do something (not sure what...). Hands on hips, looking at daddy, shouting: "Mommy loves me and Daddy doesn't love me! And Coleman loves me also!!!"

This morning she was asking if we could go on a train ride again. I said, "Shelby I don't know, do you remember how you acted on the train ride back? It was awful." S: "But Mommy I'm not gonna do that act again."

Like Father Like Son

Nonnie's Fall Carnival

The Train Ride

Yesterday we went with the Jones Family to ride the TRE Train to Fort Worth. We had a blast on the train ride there, then walked to Billy Miner's and enjoyed some burgers and football.

Waiting for the train:

Poppy and Cole as the train comes in:

Aunt Anna and Shelby waiting to get on the leaving train:

The pictures end there. Do NOT ask about the train ride back, as it is something I don't want to ever think about again. And if you were on the 5:45 train heading East from Fort Worth, please forgive the horrible screaming tantrum that the cute little 3 yr old girl threw all the way to our stop in Hurst. However, we could have done without the looks. We weren't enjoying it either. It's not like we asked her to make the ride miserable for you.
Cheers!!! :)
