This blog post is just something Jeff and I want to remember from this time in our life, because it's pretty prominent.
Our kids have great imaginations and play pretend all the time, but right now there is a long-standing ongoing pretend/fantasy life going on at our house. Their play always goes back to this scenario...and they are always playing. So it's kind of like a weird fantasy world in the Peck house lately.
Coleman is "Alvin"
Shelby is "Bella"
They call each other these names ALL the time. Usually we are also instructed to use these names. Shelby will walk past Coleman in the hall when they're not even playing and say, "Hey Alvin."
Bella and Alvin are usually outside, because they are "Ninja Spies." They fight bad guys as a team. They also make mud casseroles and mud soup with berries. We are told that Alvin and Bella are boyfriend and girlfriend. Alvin's house is the playhouse fort and Bella's house is the patio.
Recently the "game" morphed a little bit. Shelby became Daisy and Coleman stayed Alvin. Shelby says this is a "different game." They say they are teenagers who live in the city. Shelby says her apartment number is "501" and she makes little signs to hang on the door that say "501 Daisy." If they fall off or get lost, she makes more.
We can't wait to see what adventures await next for Bella/Daisy/Shelby and Alvin/Coleman/?
