Shelby: Budding Dog Photographer?

After the Snowman Shuffle 10k in Dallas,

Jeff and the kids drove out to join us for an afternoon on a patio with beautiful January weather.

Millie and Luke are living in a corporate apartment in Dallas as they wait to go to Spain.  It is in a great walk-everywhere location in Uptown, so we met Jeff and the kids there

and walked to Katy Trail Ice House.  This place was having a pet adoption so we thought the kids might enjoy seeing some doggies.  (“Some” is an understatement!  Read on…)

This place has a VERY large patio, but it was PACKED.  SO CROWDED.  Out front in their valet parking there were rows of lamborghinis, ferraris, porches and such … apparently Katy Trail Ice House was the place to be that day!  We FINALLY got a table for all of us and settled in.  Anna and I ordered a beer-rita.  Everyone had them, they looked so good, and we figured we deserved one after our morning run!  

The kiddos were in their element…outdoors and surrounded by animals!

Soon Shelby took up camera duty.  This was our “big, nice” DSLR camera.  Kinda big for her but she didn’t mind.

Shelby was just in heaven with all the dogs around.  EVERYONE had their dogs with them at this place.  It is located on the Katy trail so I suppose some people actually walked their dogs there.

Next thing we knew, Shelby was walking around with that huge camera around her neck, taking pictures of all these dogs.  Some people asked her if she’d like to be in the picture with their dog.  Everyone was very nice.  Of course, she asked each owner before touching or taking a picture of their dog.  We took turns following her at a distance where she was “on her own” interacting with all the people, but we were still right there and able to keep a good eye on her.  I loved watching how most people just smiled and enjoyed her.  Here is what we found on the SD card when we got home:

Just look at all these dogs!  One could make a killin’ by setting up a little dog spa with baths and grooming done while their owners partake in some food, drink, sunshine and conversation on the patio!  haha
