Santa!

There has been so much going on around the Peck house and I wish I had more time to write about it all!

First of all, I don’t think I’ve mentioned here yet that Shelby started at a new school last week.  We were able to get in to Green Valley through the district’s open enrollment policy.  It is like night and day from where she was.  She’s happier (she wasn’t unhappy at the last school but we can definitely tell a difference) and I am WAY happier.  The teacher walks her to the car everyday and speaks to me about how Shelby’s day was.  She sends home newsletters so we know what they’re learning/working on.  The halls are filled with papers of kindergartners writing big long sentences.  The school is amazing.  They are the Green Valley Gators and so Shelby is a KinderGator!

On Saturday, they had pancakes with Santa.  Of course the kids got pictures on his lap first!

Shelby went first, then I wanted to get their picture taken together before Shelby got down.  Well when we told Coleman to go up there he just stood there and stared.  He looked upset and Jeff and I were thinking there is NO WAY this kid is scared of Santa~  Turns out, he just didn’t want to share him with Shelby!  So, he went by himself, then Shelby climbed back up for a picture together.

Oh how they brighten my day!

This morning Coleman called me from the truck on the way to school. I love answering the phone and hearing his little voice whisper, "Hi mommy."
We talked for a minute and I told him "I want Miss Bree to tell me you had a great day today, ok?" "OK Mommy. I won't say weiner a lot again."
(Obviously we had an issue earlier this week with him exploring the use of one of his 'private' words at school!)

Then, I talked to Shelby.  I asked her if they were close to school yet.  She said, "Um, I think we're taking the long cut."
It's so awesome and funny to see her learn all these different phrases.  Last week she kept telling people (at appropriate times I might add!)  "That's the oldest trick in the book!"  When we were on our hike and came upon the lake after not seeing water for a long time, she yelled, "There's the water!  LAND HO!"

This morning also on the phone, I told her that tomorrow was the day we are going to have pancakes with Santa.  She said, "I think I know just the thing to wear." and then went on to tell me about a fancey dress she wants to wear,
S: "...and I want to wear high heels too."
M: "I don't know baby, it's gonna be cold in the morning"
S: "Mommy, Trust me!  I can wear socks with them."

Ok baby, I trust you.

Stockyards Take Two!

As you saw in a previous post, Coleman has Baxter the bear with him at the Stockyards.

I love how these kids are little hams for the camera sometimes!

Today the PAPArazzi was doing most of the shooting.  I had almost 200 photos to sift through.  Good pictures too! :)

The many faces of Coleman:

This picture scares me a little. He looks like a cartoon character about to jump off the train with his little bear.

More of posey girl…

She has a very good “sad prisoner” face.
