And the wall...

What the...??

More wall, pretty.

Shower curtain + fingers...who is this??

Oh look at that---some little legs sitting on the potty (right bottom)

Ahhh! The mystery has been solved!

You talk too much!

These 3 kids have certainly kept us on our toes this weekend, and provided a good amount of laughs, too!

Last night:
S: Matthew, do you want to go to sleep in my bed?
M: Ummm, probably. But you have to go to sleep!!!
S: Well...
M: Well you talk too much!!!

Daddy going back into the room the 4th time after we put them to bed:
J: No talking! Do not open your mouth except to breathe.
S: Well Daddy we can open our mouth if we have to yawn too.

This morning, Cole and Shelby were excited about "the bag" and were asking Matthew to do it with them.
Matthew: "Guys, I'm not doing it, it's too scary for me, you know that!!!"

Saturday Shelbyisms

Today we had a "girls day" and Shelby and I went with Nonnie, Anna and Millie to pick out Millie's veil. Shelby was very disappointed that she couldn't try on a dress this time that we were at the bridal store, but she was happy to don a veil and walk throughout the store taking in the "Oh you're so cute!" comments. She kept doing laps around the store just to get everyone to look at her! :) My little diva!

Later today back at home, Shelby ran up to me and said, "Mommy Matthew bumped his head and he thinks he might need some ice on it!" Then she ran back into the other room with Matthew. When I walked in I heard her telling Matthew, "When I get really hurt, and it hurts a hundred and a lot of bad, I put an ice pack on it. My mommy bought an ice pack for that. You want an ice pack??"

Another time as she ran to us from playing with Matthew, she said, "Matthew just said the worst thing in the world he's never said to me. He said he's going to take his boot off and spank me with it!!!"

Last one.
I had just called Shelby into her room because she had completely ransacked it, throwing out every piece of clothing that was in her drawer to find the pajamas she wanted. She walks in, "Yes Mommy?" I said, "I think you know. Look at this room!" as I pointed at the pile of clothes on the floor. She said, "Sorry Mommy. I was looking for these pjs." Then she started picking it up as Matthew walked in. She said, "Um, Matthew? I just made a bad choice. You wanna help me clean it up?" His response? "No." as he high-tailed it out of the room!

Cole factor

Cole buddy is cracking us up lately.
Today we were on our way home from school and Shelby was being extremely whiny. In fact, she wouldn't stop (fake) crying. I told her I was counting to 5 and then if she was still crying I was going to call Nonnie and tell her not to come over. Cole immediately said, "Sissy stop cryin! Stop crying stop cryin stop cryin! Sissy stop cryin stop cryin! Stop cryin Sissy!! " It was so cute that even Shelby was having to fight back a giggle as she tried to continue her sob show. (little drama queen)

Then tonight as I was tucking him into bed, I smelled something. "Cole, did you go potty?" Cole's reply, "NO MOMMY! ... TOOTED!" He was so proud. :)
Also at bedtime, we were saying our prayers together with the whole family. Last night we all held hands but tonight we didn't, we just started praying. During the whole prayer Cole is yelling, "HOLD HANDS! HOLD HANDS!!!" until I grabbed his hand then he proudly yelled, "AMEN!!"

Shelby girl

Shelby is so sweet these days- we seem to have grown out of the tantrums and fits for the time being. She is in a good mood the vast majority of the time...and oh, what an imagination she has!
When we're at home, she's crawling around on her hands and feet (not knees though) about 50% of the time. When we say something to her her response is "Meow." Our little kitty cat! She will even come over and rub on my legs when I'm cooking or whatever, like a cat would do (however I have no idea how she knows this since we haven't ever really been around cats.) Other times, she sets up "house" in her room and says, "Mommy/Daddy, want to come visit my house??" She makes us knock on her door. She gets out all our blankets and/or kitchen towels out to line up her dollies/animals and cover them up with them. For the past few weeks, any and every animal/baby is named "Mary. Cause I love Mary."
When the REAL Mary dog does something naughty like digs a hole, Shelby yells at her "NO MARY!!! Bad dog!!!" then she huffs over to me like she's exasperated and says, "Mommy we shoulda never got that bad dog from the rescue center!!" Of course they're best friends a minute later. Mary follows Shelby around and sleeps wherever she sleeps. Lately Shelby has been sleeping on the top bunk in Cole's room and Mary jumps right up there with her. She loves her girl more than anything.
Shelby's got such a great mature sense of humor that's hard to describe. She's silly and sarcastic and clever and always "gets" when people are joking around or not. And when I say mature, don't think that means she doesn't laugh over the good ol "poopy face" name calling... anything to do with poop or toots is funny! You know it is!

The Cole Factor- cheese lover

Look mom! I got my own snack!

...it's a hunk of cheese. I love cheese! Don't worry about cutting it up, I can just eat it like this.

Wahhhh! Mom why do you have to take it away from me???!!!

A night out

This weekend we found ourselves on a double date in cowtown!

We went out to eat (El Rancho Grande on Main street - YUMMY!) and then to SCAT jazz lounge on Sundance Square. We love that place! It was really crowded but we had called for a table reservation. (No extra cost...that's totally what you gotta do if you're going there!) There were tons of people standing - and a lot of people dancing. I love watching people dance, especially swing dancing.

The music was Red Young's Organ Trio and these guys got DOWN! Totally reminded us of New Orleans, too.
They had the organ, a trumpet, and drums...the drummer was great.

Our dates for the evening.

Awww.

Jeff look at the camera this time!!!

Jeff's long arms allowed us this group picture, haha!

Scat serves stiff drinks...I found a new favorite!
The Mochatini. (Theirs has Van Gogh double espresso vodka, Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur, something else that I can't remember, and a marachino cherry)

They also make a great Brandy Alexander!

We love Scat and we're gonna all go back for Mom's birthday in April.
