Last night we asked Shelby to choose where she would like to eat out, for her last night before she started Kindergarten. She chose FUZZY’s (we may or may not have known that would be the choice!!!) haha
Such a big girl…
Shelby’s kindergarten list specified no backpacks, but instead they are to use this tote bag. Ms. Story told us to decorate it however we wanted so yesterday morning we bedazzled the heck out of it!
You might notice she has some new bangs since getting her beautiful haircut…that’s because she cut some herself last week when our babysitter Heather was cooking lunch. There was a small little chunk so I decided to just even them out all across, after trying to keep them back was unsuccessful.
Still cute :)
This morning when I woke her up she had to get some Mary cuddles in first, of course.
After she got dressed she insisted on feeding the dogs breakfast, so she fed all three dogs and got them fresh water.
When she sat down at the table I kissed her left hand and drew this little red heart in there- Aunt Jan sent her The Kissing Hand in the mail last week and we have been reading it and just love it.
Then she got herself Froot Loops from the pantry and fixed it herself.
Then we were all ready and headed outside to the “picture area” :)
Of course, Shelby had to stop the dog-walker to pet his dog first.
Then some smileys.
We parked a block from the school to walk her up. She was READY to go!
The kindergartners were to meet in the cafeteria but we stopped as we passed her classroom for a couple of pictures.
The proud, non-boohooing parents!
We followed her through the hallowed halls to the cafeteria:
While waiting to go to her class, she was a little cuddly and clingy- ok maybe I’m holding back tears here.
But when it was time to go, she went up to her friend Kailey, who she met on Thursday at Meet The Teacher, and said, “Can we hold hands?”
So we followed the new little friends off to their class as they held hands the whole way. Kailey’s dad said, “Ok we know they’re gonna be best friends forever now!”
Inside she found her hook and hung her bag.
Then Mrs. Shapiro asked the boys and girls to go to the carpet and read books. Shelby said, “Bye Mommy and Daddy!” She gave us hugs and walked off to the carpet, never looking back.
So we were off.
She is excited and she is ready. Our big, smart, beautiful baby girl!

such a big beautiful girl. :)
Love the story!! I'm glad I'm a few years away from this; not ready just yet!
Ok that about made me cry! So sweet!
So hard to believe she is in kindergarten! Time sure does fly.
She looked absolutely adorable for her first day.
Wow - time flies. She's such a beautiful little "big" girl.
