Pictures

Although there's a link here on the left to all the pictures we share, it's good to see pictures in the blog too. Here are some of my favorites from the photo shoot at Portrait Innovations last Saturday:
Shelby LOVES doggies, even ones that aren't Bobby:

Here's the same pose we got of Shelby at this age. Such a big cute boy!

What a heartbreaker! He's mommy's boy forever!

And, a Halloween preview. I had to "create" this pic because we couldn't get one of them both looking at the camera. I cropped Coleman in - it works!

Our walk to school

This morning Shelby came to my office with me (we were running late and I wanted to make sure to be here "on time" even if it was with my daughter in tow!) :) As we walked into the office Shelby asked "Where's Drena?" like she always does. Adrena is our department secretary and is the first person you see in our office (if she's here.) As we walked through the hallway where the kitchen stuff is, she said, "You gonna get your coffee mommy?" Then she headed straight for my office. After Shelby ate her breakfast cookie and banana, we picked up Bobby and headed out to walk across campus to her school. It was about 8am and bright outside but you could still see the sliver of the moon, which Shelby found like always. She had to convince me that she could indeed see it because I couldn't find it but she was able to point me in the right direction. She said, "It's a tiny little moon. It wants it's mommy and it's daddy and it's sister." Then the big campus bell began ringing and Shelby said, "I can hear the clock tower ringing mommy!" How does she know what all these things are called? She's amazing. :)

An opposite bedtime- haha

Shelby is mad at us for making her go into her own room to sleep tonight. She just opened up her bedroom door and threw both of her Bobbies at us. Then she went back into her room and slammed the door. Then she opened the door and threw her water sippy cup out and slammed the door. Then she came back out, all huffing and puffing, and threw both of her blankies and her teddy bear out at us. Then she returned to her room. Jeff and I were talking and she yelled, "No more talking!!!" What an attitude! Are we dealing with a 2 yr old or a teenager? Is she giving us a foresight into about 12 years from now? If so, I can wait!!! haha
ps- now she just came back out throwing her pillow at me, and went back into her room slamming the door behind her, and she's doing it all with serious diva attitude.

Sing yourself to sleep...

Shelby was running around and I told her it was time for bed and she said, "I don't wanna go to bed Mommy, I wanna go to Chick Fil A!!!"
Then once in bed, I heard her belting out "You are my Sunshine" and "Mommy Loves You" which is her song that I made up and have sung to her since she was an infant. So cute.
Daughters are awesome :)

I Will Love You

This is the song I sang to Jeff at our wedding. This is the recording of me singing. It's such a great song! I love my husband!!! Click here to hear it!

Kissy Kissy

Today when we were leaving Shelby's class, I told her to say "bye" to all her friends. She turned around w/out saying a word and walked over to Linnea (a cutie who seems to be Shelby's favorite friend) and Linnea said "Bye Telby" and Shelby leaned over and kissed her and Linnea kissed back. It was the sweetest thing ever. I think they're best friends!!! In September they're having a family picnic with all the families at the childcare center and I'm so excited to go and meet all the mommies and daddies. After all, our kids are spending *most* of their time together. It's so cool to see her making friends and being such a big girl there.
Tonight I was telling her to eat all her chicken b/c it was good for her and would make her a big strong girl and she said, "I want to be big and strong like you Mommy" and I just melted. Is it normal for your child to give you goosebumps and make you melt numerous times a day? I'm sure it is but I sure love it!!! Today I read about severl friends' experiences with their kids' first day at kindergarten. They all gave me chills b/c I know how time flies and how that moment is just around the corner for us. I know that even though it's 3 years away she'll still be my baby girl going off to school and I will not be ready for her to be so big.
Cole LOVES to hang upside down and is so giggly and lovey. Today Daddy got to spend extra time with him because he was off work so Cole got to sleep in and see Daddy this morning, and then he picked him up around 3:30 and they had an extra hour together at home before us girls got home. I could not have been blessed with a happier baby. I know he is going to be such a sweetie and a mommy's boy. Thank Heaven for little boys!!!

Shelby wants a...

We were in Lowe's yesterday lookin at kitchen faucets. We were discussing them and Jeff says that one that I was considering looked like a "weiner shaft." (He's so crude.) Shelby was in the stroller minding her own business (or so we thought) and then she starts yelling, "I want a weiner shaft Mommy!!! I want a weiner shaft!!"
We were cracking up and hoping that no one heard her. haha
