Our Winter Wonderland

Well, we had a record snowfall in DFW on Thurs/Friday, getting 12.7 inches of snow in 24 hours!  It was amazing and SOOOooo pretty. 

The kids’ main focus was to EAT the snow.

We went out a few times to play in it, but we didn’t really last long.  We don’t have snow suits or gloves that don’t get WET and cold, so it was kind of miserable!  But, both of their classes played in it on Thursday and built big snowmen.

Friday school/work was canceled, and in the morning our power went out about 8 am, so we packed up even earlier than planned to head to Nonnie & Poppy’s house, and then on to Lubbock.

Yep, we had to leave all the pretty snow behind and drive out west.

Our power was out for all of Friday at at least some of Saturday, but luckily we weren’t there.

When we got back, almost all the snow was gone.  I was hoping there would be some left to play in!  Maybe we’ll get another big snow??  Here’s hoping!  :)

Pulling up a chair to sit by me in the kitchen: "Mama, I wanna enjoy you!"

Standing in his room looking at his broken train table: "I breaked everything, heh heh heh!!!" Me: Why do you break everything? C: "Cause I'm a breakin man!"

We were looking at pictures and I said, "That's a little boy named Luke." C: "I yuv the big Yuke Mommy. I yuv yunkle yuke and I yuv yuncle tyty. I yuv 2 uncles mommy."

We woke up this morning to a blanket of snow on the ground! Cole said, "Mommy is it Christmas?!" I told him no and he said, "Yes it is, buhcause it's snowing!" Then he ran to wake sissy up, so excited, "Sissy it snoweded!"

I just found this photo blog with a weekly contest via Amanda’s blog.

This is the first picture that I went searching for when I saw that it was a KISSES contest…of course this was taken in the summer with my point and shoot camera- it’s not the picture quality that I love, but it’s the girl loving her Daddy. In their favorite place: Outdoors. True love. True kisses!

Cole’s Cupcakes at School

I’m gonna have to backdate this one- Just a few pictures from Cole’s actual birthday.  I kept him and Shelby home from school that day, but we went up to school after naptime to provide the afternoon snack- Cupcakes for the HoneyBees!

As always, Cole washed his hands like a good boy :)
