Molly has been obsessed with Princess dresses (and high heels) for months now. Every day, she comes home and opens the laundry room to find princess dresses hanging, and asks to put one on. Then she finds her high heels. She wears costumes until bedtime, when she cries to take them off. On weekends she naps in costume dresses and high heels. We have had to create a hard rule that we only wear costumes at home. She was starting to cry and throw a fit to wear them everywhere; a huge production any time we needed to get her dressed in regular clothes. She has done pretty good with this rule, saying, "We only wear princess dresses at HOME." ...but sometimes she still tries.
Yesterday, I woke her up and like every morning, we hugged and cuddled in her room, and then I start to get her clothes out and get her dressed. She started crying, "I want to wear Minnie to school!" I said, "No Molly, we don't wear costumes to school. Besides, Minnie dress is too cold. You will freeze." She spent the rest of the time fighting me getting her dressed, crying "I want to be freezing! I want to freeze at school!"
When she got home, she went straight to her Minnie dress and took it to Daddy. "Daddy, will you put this on me PLEASE? This Minnie dress is SO WARM AND TOASTY!"
