I have not blogged in 4 months, but I am going to end that right now! It is overwhelming to go back, so for now, let’s just start with where we are.
Molly is hilarious and brilliant. I just want a video to follow her around all day long, because all of her sentences and exclamations and phrases are so awesome, I just want to remember them forever! All of the kids had their funny things as toddlers, and one I will remember from Molly is “mine own” instead of “my” and “OK” instead of “Yes.”
For example,
”I need-a mine own milk.” “I want-a mine own puzzles.”
M: “I want to play with the kitchen.”
Me: “You want to play with your kitchen?”
M: “Oh-kay!”
M: “I want to watch Mickey Mouse Clu-House.” (Yes she says the whole name.)
Me: “You do?”
M: “Oh-kay!”
She seems to like her school. She’s happy there. It’s not my favorite place as far as their communication with me, but that’s my only gripe- it’s good and she smiles and talks about her teachers.
She can say anything she wants to say…hundreds of words and sentences. For example, one day this week I asked her, “Did you play outside today Molly?” and her answer was, “Yeah! I played outside on the playground with Tammy!”
We’re working on potty training. She is so very independent and just seems much older than she is. I have a feeling she might blow away her teachers when she begins a new 2 yr old class in August. She loves her family. Mommy is always needed, with a loud yell, “MOM!” and Daddy is “Juff”. Just last night, she woke up in the night crying (which she doesn’t do often.) I went in there, “What’s wrong baby?” “I need Juff.” Daddy hears that, walks right in, lays her down, tucks her in, and she’s right back to sleep. It was so cute.
Picking her up from her school is a real treat for her, she always runs to me and says, “My Mommy!” Yesterday as soon as she hugged me she said, “I love you Mom!” Seriously, I don’t know if you can beat that as a parent, hearing those words! As we walk to the car, she anticipates who will be in there. Sometimes it’s no one, and sometimes it’s any number of 1 up to 4 kids. She knows the kids who we give rides to and calls them by name. She asks them to hold her hand in the car. One day this week, we got into the car but no one was in there. She didn’t’ know that. She got in and turned around to the third row and yelled, “HELLO PEOPLES!” She calls strangers peoples. In a store she said to a man, “’Scuse me Peoples!”
She loves:
Mickey Mouse Clu-House
her night-nights
Poppy’s trail mix “I need Poppy Nix!”
Snacking (Peanuts, cereal, crackers, chips, grapes, oranges.)
Cousin Nora
Baby cousin Lola
Nonnie’s House
Singing – she can sing Twinkle Twinkle, ABC’s, Jesus Loves Me, BINGO, Happy and you Know it, Amazing Grace, Mommy Loves You, and many more. Girl can carry a good tune.
Shelby & Coleman. LOVES SO MUCH.
Puzzles. And she’s amazingly good at them!
Riding her bike. “I wanta ride-a mine own bike!”
Nonnie’s House ”I need-a go to Nonnie’s house. I see Nonnie, and Poppy, and Nora, and Yola.”
How about those bigs! Shelby and Coleman (aka “the kids”, Molly even calls them that) are doing great in school, as usual. We are making summer plans for schedules and church camp and college for kids and all that fun stuff. Baseball practice has started for Coleman and his first game is on Tuesday. Daddy is coaching, and I am so excited about Spring. Daddy gets to work a work schedule that is better for our family, and we will get lots more time with him! More time for baseball, projects, dinner together, and just downtime. I can’t wait!!! Shelby is going to do some volleyball clinics, and she is still loving her SWAT team (Technology after-school class) and Valley Voices (after school choir.) Molly Rose has become very good about just going right along, of course. She made me very proud at Shelby’s choir concert. She sat in her own seat, listened to the music, clapped when people clapped, and didn’t talk. (She was eating snacks, of course.) S&C are very loving and caring big siblings to Molly, and I am so thankful for that.
Now for some pictures. Just March.
We got a LOT of snow in early March. Like 5 inches one night! Enough to play in a lot. Molly LOVED eating it. She just walked around scooping it up and eating it like a snow cone. It melted very fast, I think it got up to over 50 the next day. Crazy Texas!
So deep it covered our feet.
Eating it off her boot.
We tried, but it was too soft and deep to sled on.
The snowman didn’t make it very far. I think we need to work on our kids’ work ethics! It was “too hard!”
Pretty park across from our house.
Still eating it.
Walking across the park.
Silly Shelby was soaked when we came in.
Then it was Spring break 2 days later!!
On Monday, we took a hike around the park across from our house.
Tuesday we went to the zoo.
Baby monkeys!
Wednesday, we went to eat lunch with daddy and then to the Trampoline park.
This silly boy does lots of playing outside. He loves basketball.
Baby Lola came over to practice Tummy Time.
On Thursday, Daddy took off work, and we packed up our new bike hitch rack and went to a trailway in Denton.
We rode 10 miles. Great exercise and quiet time!
At the mid-way point, we stopped to eat lunch and play some catch.
On Friday, Daddy took a half day. We went to have dinner and a sleepover with the Matthews, Walkers, and Uncle TyTy (Nonnie and Poppy were in Arkansas)
On Saturday, we went on a walk with the aunts, then went to eat at a cool place called The Lot in Dallas. No pics!
On Sunday, we got to see Nonnie, Poppy, Nana and Papa G here from Arkansas for a family lunch and watchin’ the Hogs play.
Since spring break, it’s been back to work and school for 2 weeks and no more pictures!
Well, that’s all I have time for, lunch break is over! Will update more soon.
HAPPY SPRING!!
