Cole's surgery is scheduled for April 8, next Tuesday. This is for the hydrocele, which had to keep being put off through the winter. We have decided to go ahead and do it because the fluid seems to be getting worse and his testicle looks painful (although they have told us that it is not hurting him.) It's an outpatient surgery so keep little Cole in your prayers on Tuesday!
Shelby is such a little lady these days. She's started really being a big helper. She holds the door open for us every time we go through a door. She is so motherly to all her stuffed animals and dolls (aka her "babies"). This weekend was her first tee ball game. She cried through most of the game because the other kids were all racing and getting the balls that were hit when we were in the field and she wanted to get it. It was so sad because she was so heartbroken, but what can ya do? She didn't even hit in the game. My mom says the sad part is that she was the ONLY one out there before the game taking swings and running the bases. I missed that part because I was getting my first ever speeding ticket. That is also the reason no pictures were taken of this game. I was a little frazzled. Ugh, it makes me so mad to even think about that ticket!
Anyway....Shelby also went to her first movie in a movie theater on Saturday. I was sad to not get to go but it was a nice break for me to let Cole take a nap and I got to stay home with him and rest too. Nonnie and Tyler took her to see Horton Hears a Who. She was very good in the movie and knew to whisper, and even remembered to tell Nonnie and Tyler to bring me some popcorn home like I asked her to! :)
The other day Shelby was in our room with her arms full of babies, and she looked at Jeff and said, "Dad, can you do me a favor?" We just started cracking up. She also told me "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" again when I told her she had to take a shower with me and no bath this weekend.
Coleman is really starting to say lots of things. He knows a lot of animal sounds and yesterday he said "Bubble" twice when we were at a birthday party with bubbles. When he woke up from his nap on Saturday and Shelby wasn't there, he was very concerned. He kept saying "Sissy? Sissy?" She makes him so happy! He's still a piggy. We spent a lot of time outside this weekend because the weather was pretty nice. You know he loved that!

My sister and I = NERDS
Millie emailed me today to show me some swimsuit from Victoria's secret that she loves. She wanted to know which pattern I liked, so I told her, but then I saw that they had it in a style for my fatter bigger body so I told her she couldn't get that style. :) So we decided what we were going to get and I called Mom to see what size I should get in the top. Not 1 minute into talking to mom, her cell phone rings. She didn't answer. Then her class phone rings- It's Millie, but she didn't answer. I email Millie, "Stop calling Mom, I'm talking to her!" And Millie says, "But I need to know what size to get!" Umm, attached a little bit? No way!!!! :)

My boys
Everyone says they look alike. I can't see it that much because they just like Jeff and Coleman to me. What do you think? :)

Master bedroom project
We finally have a master bedroom with real adult furniture and paint on the walls and decor! It's always been the room we put off and never complete. We painted the walls, added awesome furniture, a new comforter set, curtains, and wall decor. The only thing left (once I talk Jeff into it) is getting all new (white?) or darker stained paneled interior doors. I hate the woodgrain looking ones that we have now.
Here's our bedroom:

My dream
I had a dream last night. It stressed me out. It was Shelby's birthday party and we forgot to go get the bounce house. So we had all these kids there running around and no bounce house. I was trying to make the cotton candy and for some reason that's all I could do, even though a ton of other stuff still needed to be done. And we had the cotton candy machine sitting on the ground and it was really hot and all the kids kept coming up trying to touch it. Then people started leaving so I was trying to give them their favors, but I had written names on them in paint and I had written all the names of kids who WEREN'T there instead of the ones who were there. So I was trying to scrape the paint off and rewrite the names without the kids or parents seeing me. When Jeff arrived with the bounce house (he had to drive over an hour each way) it was tiny, like our little blow up ball pit and only 1 kid could fit in it. And it was primary colors even though I ordered a pink one. The end.
:)
Yesterday when I picked the kids up we had the most hectic 2 hours before I left to go to dinner and Dinner Station with friends. Coleman screamed at the top of his lungs (not crying, just yelling) for most of the hour at home and Shelby managed to dump a whole bowl of chicken Dora noodle soup all over the table, 2 chairs, herself, and worst, the floor. I was so ready to throw them at Jeff when he got home and leave. Needless to say, my depression from missing them yesterday was cured. Haha!

My heart hurts!!!
I miss my babies today. I can't think about anything else. Usually after a long break I am READY to get back to work and get them back into school, but not this time. I just feel sad, and I miss being with them ALL DAY. So I keep looking at their pictures and just thinking about them. It's quite depressing. That is all. :(

Chat from spring break
Well it's been over a week since I last posted and I know my (2) avid readers are waiting with bated breath for an update (Hi Aunt Jan and Mimi!!) Haha, I can't even say "Hi Mom" because she doesn't ever remember to read. Of course, she sees my kids several times a week so she doesn't miss much.
We've been on Spring Break. I'm worn out. We've been to Six Flags twice and the zoo once. We went to Pilot Point today to do the Easter thing with Gram and Matthew, and we will celebrate Easter tomorrow with the Joneses.
Let's see. Coleman has continued saying "More" all the time along with the hand sign. He says "Moo" every time he sees a cow. He says "Bye!" and "Hi Sis" and "Dah" (for dog) but mostly he says "Nuh Nuh" while pointing at food or a drink and now anything else he wants. As far as I can figure it came from "Num Nums" which I first called milk when he was a baby and then called any kind of food when I fed him. So it has gone from that to anything he wants. He loves being outside just like Shelby did. He is climbing on EVERYTHING. I looked up yesterday and he had crawled up on a chair at the table and was standing there with 2 hands full of pigs-in-blankets that Shelby had left from breakfast. Have I mentioned that he'll eat anything and everything that you put in front of him? He also loves to play on the fort/slide that Jeff built in our backyard. Not sure if I posted about that but it's really great. Anyway, Coleman can already climb up the slide and then he slides back down backwards. He can also climb up the rather tall and steep ladder to get to the fort, but that's the sissy way. Ha!
Shelby has been quite argumentative this past week. She argues with EVERYTHING. "But Mom...." Yesterday when I was trying to get her down for a nap and she couldn't find her second Bobby, I told her to go ahead and get in bed, she'd just have to sleep with only one Bobby. She looked at me and said, "But mom, it's not FAIR!!!!" Where did she hear that? Crap, it's already started! She loves the rides at Six Flags and has no fear whatsoever. She has been my helper girl this past week and will go fetch me whatever I need for her brother, or anything else I ask her to do.
I'm tired now, but just wanted to "Chat" a little! :)

Stuff from today
Cole is sitting in his high chair eating some animal crackers. He was whining and pointing at the bag on the table to indicate that he wanted more. I went to him and said, "Do you want MORE?" and he said, "Mmmmmore" while putting his fingers together exactly how you're supposed to to say "more" in sign language. I was so excited! I've only taught him that once a couple of days ago. Another quick learner!!
Then, I heard Jeff pull up and I said, "Daddy's here! Who wants to see Daddy?" Shelby raised her hand and said, "ME!" and in perfect rhythm Cole did too. He raised his little fist and yelled, "Meh!" Cuteness!
I gave Shelby a Peeps chick candy today. She said it was yucky. I said, "It's just a marshmallow, don't you like marshmallows?" and she said, "Well Mom, I like the white marshmallow kinds but not the little chicken kinds."
Last night she peed in our bed. When I asked her why she did it, she replied, "I don't know Mom, I didn't wake up." My sister Millie says that sounds like a pretty smart answer to her! :)

An update on me
Well, the new schedule is great except the boot camp thing is NOT happening. Last week, after going on Monday morning, Coleman got sick and our night were sleepless and full of whining toddler and screaming baby. So I didn't/couldn't go. Now I just don't think I'm motivated anymore. Yesterday, I bent down to pick up a magnet in the kitchen and something happened in my back and now it hurts. I laid on the couch, immobile all night. It was a little better this morning but it still hurts to try to bend over at all. Real easy to get the kids ready and in the car and stuff, right!?!?
Anyway, the point is that stuff keeps coming up. Life is busy. I just need to make myself do it on my own. I am thinking about going to do cardio at the gym here at work when I get off at 3 on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Then doing weights with Jeff at home at night. This is the part that probably won't happen but I wish! I wish Jeff would get on the wagon with me but he's just never had to deal with eating right or worrying about exercise. He always seems to be doing some kind of sport or manual labor, and he eats and drinks what he wants (and lots of it!) I know, everyone says it will catch up to him one day, but it hasn't yet!
So for now, the exercise continues to be low priority, like it has been my entire life. I just don't like sweating!!

Texas Snow in March, a trip to Six Flags
It snowed last week. It didn't stick around for long but it was pretty, and some parts of our area (Denton) got LOTS of it! We got enough to play in:

A couple of days later, it was nice enough to go to Six Flags! We bought season passes and the kids loved all the rides.

The freaky dude running these swings was a whacko. He left this group of kids on there for WAY too long. All the parents standing there started looking around like, "Am I the only one who thinks they've been going too long?" All the kids were getting tired of it. Shelby started crying to get off, Coleman started making me nervous trying to climb out. One dad told the guy several times that they were ready to get off, but he just looked at him and kept it going. Finally the dad went over to him and kinda yelled a little. I was glad. I mean, geez dude! I know it's not busy and there's no line but you can't leave a bunch of 1 and 2 yr olds on swings for 7 minutes! I don't know how long it actually was but it was WAY too long.

New Schedule???
I went to boot camp this morning...at 5:30 am! It was pouring down rain!!! But I still went :)
I am so tired and beat down in the evenings, I am now trying to shove all the stuff I have to do (like work out and work) as early as I can in the day. My new schedule:
Mon: 5am Wake up
5:30-6:30 Boot camp
6:35-7:10 Get myself and kids ready for work/school (this is the challenge!)
7:30 Get to work
4:00 Get off work, pick kids up
4:30 Home for the night to do whatever we want!!!
Tues: 6am Wake up
6:30 Get to work
3:00 Get off work, pick kids up
3:30 Home for the night to do whatever we want!!!
Wed: Same as Monday
Thurs: Same as Tuesday
Fri: Same as Monday but work starts at 8 instead of 7:30
This puts me and the kids home at 3:30 or 4:30 daily, which gives us lots of recreation/family/dinner/relaxing time. I just have to keep it going, with the early mornings. I think the workouts will actually help, along with coffee. :)

Shelby's first year photo montage
I am way behind in creating these, but my goal this week is to do Coleman's first year. So, as a preview- here is the one I did for Shelby. It is missing pictures from the first couple of weeks but it's got the rest of year ONE in there, up to her birthday and Easter 2006. Just watching it makes me think of Coleman- You guys would not believe how IDENTICAL they are. Their facial expressions and everything. They are twins 2 years apart! I suspect you will see what I mean when I finish and post Cole's first year. Just take away the pink and the bows (and add in some spiked hair) and you will have Cole :)
It's 9 minutes long...Enjoy!

Shelby says...
A few funny/cute things from the weekend:
Me: "Shelby, Do you want a bounce house here for your birthday party?"
Shelby: Large huff...."I guess so."
Me: "Shelby, isn't it a pretty day outside today?"
Shelby: "Mommy, God gave us this beautiful day."
Shelby was asking me to play with her miniature set of animals, but she didn't want her brother getting into them.
Me: "Maybe we can play with those when brother goes to sleep for a nap."
Shelby's reply: "Mom, can you get brother to sleep?"
Me: "No, he just woke up."
Shelby: "But mom, I think he's tired."
Shelby: ((Laying flat on all the animals on the ground to protect them from the bruiser brother)) "He can't play with these things because he's just a little baby, and he's kinda tired."
